St. Urho's Day
March 14, 2009
Dear friends,
Congratulations on the 100th anniversary of your wonderful and historic structure.  I hope that you are able to restore the old building so that she continues to draw your community together for many years. I was fortunate enough to visit the Finlandia Club on St. Urho's day of 2007 and spent some time among a gaily attired crowd of spectators. There were a number of speakers and musical acts on the stage. I especially enjoyed the little group of gentlemen performing with accordions and other instruments and wearing spectacles with fake noses. Everyone seemed to be having a great time visiting with old friends and eating traditional fare. I enjoyed some delicious mojakka and salt fish sandwiches and took a few photographs of the festivities before I had to be on my way. Good luck with the restoration project and I hope that I get to see the results of your efforts in a few years.

With best regards,
W. F.USA
